KPC Promise Hospital of AMARILLO: The Respiratory Supervisor/Practitioner organizes, leads, manages, and coordinates the activities of the Cardio Pulmonary Department.
He/She carries out policies and procedures consistent with TJC, OSHA, and state and local requirements.
Responsibilities also include quality assurance, safety, infection control, overseeing blood gas lab, in-service for staff, ensures adequate budgeting and staffing is met, attends, contributes and participates in all committees as assigned by administration, as well as the management of employees and payroll for the cardio pulmonary department
.
The Respiratory Supervisor/Practitioner will provide cardio-pulmonary services according to the scope of the State Respiratory Care Practice Act and the hospital policy and procedure manuals.
The Respiratory Supervisor/Practitioner may administer and perform those direct and indirect cardio-pulmonary services, including but not limited to, the administration of pharmacological and diagnostic and therapeutic agents related to cardio-pulmonary procedures necessary to implement a treatment, disease prevention pulmonary rehabilitation, and diagnostic regimen prescribed by a physician using safe and aseptic techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an American Medical Association approved School of Respiratory Care

Current National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) credential (i.
e.
, CRT, RRT).
3.
Current and valid State Respiratory Care Licensure
4.
Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, prioritizing, and critical thinking skills
5.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
6.
Sufficient hearing, vision and dexterity to perform duties safely

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, MATERIALS, MACHINES USED: Various oxygen equipment, artificial airways (i.
e.
, tracheotomy tubes, endotracheal tubes), invasive as well as non-invasive ventilator equipment, suction equipment, percussors, electrocardiographic machine, pulse oximetry equipment and supplies, blood gas and other chemistry analyzers, crash carts, other miscellaneous medical equipment, telephone, facsimile machine, copier, printers, computers and other office machines, as appropriate.
CERTIFICATIONS: CRT or RRT, BLS certification, ACLS certification
