*Job Purpose: *
Assists the Plan Document Coordinator with the preparation and completion of regulatory and compliance documents.
Ensures compliance with the contractual requirements and federal, state, and local government regulations.
Experience in the field of related area preferred.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Health Insurance Industry.
Relies on limited experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
Performs a variety of tasks.
A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.
*Duties and Responsibilities:*
* Assists in monitoring regulatory affairs and compliance requirements specific to the TPA industry and their clients for applicable issues
* This position will be involved in providing information that could significantly impact clients and IMS through research and analysis of data/information; interpreting federal and state laws, including DOL, CMS regulations, ERISA, and ACA
* Assist in tracking, analyzing, and interpreting proposed regulations/rulemaking/bulletins as it impacts the businesses and advises key members of management on these various pending issues
* Be a knowledgeable resource on operational compliance matters related to the organizations’ activities, including audit and examination support as well as consistency of services performance with client contracts and applicable laws
* Assist in providing knowledgeable partner support with respect to laws applicable to such insurers so that compliance is viewed as a reason to do business with IMS
* Advise leadership on Federal restrictions and limitations in law and contract requirements applicable to clients
* Document regulatory and compliance matters as needed
* Assist with SOC/SSAE16 readiness/compliance and audit standards
* Assist in updating Health Benefit Plans, Section 125, HRA/HAS, and Flex legal documents with support from the Plan Documents Coordinator
* Collaborate with external legal support as contracted by IMS to maintain compliance and meet internal department and client needs; track communications and report to management and Plan Document Coordinator any concerns with external legal support
* Update and communicate all legal notices and documents as applicable to federal requirements
* Assist in proactively designing plan adjustments based on New Group / Amendment changes outside of IMS Standard plan
* All other duties as assigned
